Biomechanics SIG Nominations and Elections
The Biomechanics SIG will be holding elections online, in line with the Academy of Physical Therapy Research. To be added to the ballot please complete the following form: Biomechanics SIG Nominations Form.
The following positions will be elected in May 2025:

Position Descriptions:
Chair (2-year Term): The Chair is responsible for:
- Preparing the agenda for meetings of the SIG and the Executive Committee
- Presiding at the annual meeting, SIG meetings, and Executive Committee meetings
- Preparing the SIG’s annual report to the section
- Organizing educational programming
- Serving as the official spokesperson for the SIG
Additional potential responsibilities as part of the Executive Committee:
- Assist with social media promotion as needed (e.g., facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X)
- Aid Secretary as needed in organizing/recruiting for the Biomechanics SIG sponsored session at CSM
Vice-Chair (2-year Term): The Vice-Chair is responsible for:
- Monitoring Section activities and advising the Executive Committee and Chair on the SIG’s role in Section matters
- Assuming the duties of the Chair in their absence or incapacitation
- Succeeding to the Chair position for the remaining portion of the term in the event of a vacancy
Additional potential responsibilities as part of the Executive Committee:
- Assist with social media promotion as needed (e.g., facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X)
- Aid Secretary as needed in organizing/recruiting for the Biomechanics SIG sponsored session at CSM
Nominating Committee Member (3-year Term)
Members of the Nominating Committee are responsible for:
- Recruiting and submitting a slate of candidates for each open position on the Executive Committee for the upcoming term
- Identifying and recruiting individuals to serve on other SIG subcommittees (e.g., Awards) as needed
- Serving as the Committee Lead during the third year of their appointment
Overall time commitment: ~1 hour/month March through October; ~2 hours/month, November through February
